To our Volunteers, Sponsors, and 5K Participants,

On behalf of the Susquehanna Warrior Trail Council and all the people who enjoy utilizing the trail, please accept our sincere thank you for your participation in our 2022 Susquehanna Warrior Trail 5K Race/Fun Walk.  This year we are fortunate to have more than 140 runners and walkers participate in our event on a rainy, chilly Saturday morning, April 9th, along with a dedicated group of volunteers.  SWT has no paid staff and is maintained entirely through the cooperative efforts of volunteers from local businesses, schools, and scout groups, as well as interested individuals.

Over the past several years, COVID protocols and, more recently, rising costs have challenged us to continue this community event. With your partnership, we have persevered. Your entry fees, time, and donations are put to good use - supporting the everyday operations of the trail.  This enables us to both maintain and improve the historic and scenic Susquehanna Warrior Trail. It provides hikers, bikers, runners, and cross-country skiers a safe and scenic outlet for healthy exercise much needed to offset our sedentary lifestyles.    Our goal is to secure enough funding to connect the Susquehanna Warrior Trail with the Plymouth Levee System enabling off-road travel from Wilkes-Barre to the Susquehanna Riverlands via the Luzerne County trail system.

Please wear your race t-shirt proudly! We could not succeed without the support of people like you.

Barb Rupert

2022 Race Director
